Double Square Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in the 2025 Art Taipei, presenting our exhibition at Booth B36 in the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1. The event will take place from October 24 (Friday) to October 27 (Monday), 2025. For this year’s Taipei Art Fair, Double Square Gallery presents "Memorandum for the Next Millennium" as its concept, gathering five artists spanning three generations for a joint exhibition. Drawing from the collected lectures by Italian writer Italo Calvino, titled Six Memos for the Next Millennium, the five values—lightness, quickness, exactitude, visibility, and multiplicity—which Calvino hoped creators would carry into the new millennium, are responded to and conversed with through the works of the five artists, opening new dimensions for understanding the artists and their creations.

Cynthia Sah shapes marble with elegant and agile lines, bringing forth the stone's inner vitality, mastering the balance between flow and stillness with a thoughtful lightness. Huang Hai-Hsin keenly and quickly captures the absurdity and awkwardness of everyday life; fleeting moments are thus extended on the canvas, bringing forth a sense of bodily time distinct from physical time, recreating the insights brought by the immediate situation. Juan Zamora focuses on the coexistence of nature and contemporary life within an ecological context. With precise painting techniques, he preserves extinct plants on paper, and further creates cyborg bodies blending bamboo branches and muscles using his own medical records, bringing forth infinite possibilities of imagination through extremely real fiction. Lin Liang-Tsai's sculptures shape the body through welding and hammering, reducing superfluous lines, accurately capturing the dynamism and posture of forms, displaying the body's versatility and revealing the underlying texture. Emerging artist Fu Ning intricately constructs landscapes on canvas with vibrant colors; the canvases are filled with ingenuity and brilliant ideas, displaying the artist's understanding of the world in the age of internet-driven information explosion.

This exhibition brings together several outstanding artists, including Lin Liang-Tsai, Cynthia Sah, Huang Hai-Hsin, Juan Zamora and Fu Ning. Each artist creates unique and remarkable works using their individual observations of the world and rich, diverse creative approaches. At this point, a quarter of the 21st century already past, we revisit with the artists Calvino's memos left for future creators in the last century, journeying forward together.
