Ana de Alvear was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1962. She specializes in creating hyper-real trompe-l'œil drawings using only colored pencils. Selected for her highly innovative vision, she was awarded the Edge Artist Award at the 2025 Taipei Dangdai Art & Ideas. Her work has been exhibited at internationally renowned institutions, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Spain, The San Diego Museum of Art in the US, the Hara Museum in Tokyo, and the MOCA Seoul. Her works are also included in important collections such as The San Diego Museum of Art, the Detroit Museum of Art, and the Fundación Helga de Alvear.
