Double Square Gallery Presents Emerging Artist Liu En-Lin at Art Taipei 2025

Gallery News

Liu En-Lin draws inspiration from fragments of his diaries and mobile photo albums, weaving together reality and imagination to transform them into figures, sports fields, utility poles, trees, mountain ridges, and coastlines. These images feel both familiar and unfamiliar—an extension of lived memories infused with a dreamlike poetics. Through layered brushstrokes and a unique visual vocabulary, Liu creates open-ended narrative spaces that invite multiple interpretations, turning his works into sites of daily recollection and emotional projection.

This presentation highlights the artist’s inspiration from natural transformations, exploring diverse materials while reinterpreting established concepts and modes of storytelling. His works not only reflect the interplay between human perception of beauty and nature, but also guide viewers to reflect on the relationship between the Anthropocene and the natural world.

With his distinctive visual language and acute observation, Liu En-Lin embodies the creativity of a new generation of MIT (Made in Taiwan) talents. Through the platform of Art Taipei, Double Square Gallery looks forward to introducing more collectors and international audiences to the vitality of contemporary Taiwanese art.
