Wang Gon-Jer
Wang Gon-Jer was born in Taipei in 1971. He earned his Doctor of Fine Arts (DFA) degree from the University of Auckland in New Zealand and currently teaches in the Department of Fine Arts at Tainan University of Technology. His works have been exhibited globally, including in Yokohama, Tokyo, Shanghai, Macau, Shenzhen, Florence, Toronto, Auckland, St. Louis, and across Taiwan.
His art long focuses on time, space, life experiences, and awareness. Through a blend of color, structure, and rhythm, he creates a visual space between reason and intuition. Combining personal experiences, observations of nature, and philosophy, his work explores new ways of seeing between abstract and realistic forms. Recently, he has focused on today's information-heavy world, exploring how individuals can find their inner peace and deep awareness in a fast-changing society. His paintings combine the free spirit of Eastern ink art with Western abstract styles. With deep, subtle colors, his art feels both poetic and well-structured, inviting viewers to quietly reflect on time, existence, and the universe.
